Welcome to the homepage for GtkDND, an application for the
X Windowing System eventually intended to serve as a
replacement for Evermore Entertainment's Core
Rules products. Essentially, this is a DM's assistant for Unix.
Currently the project is still very much under construction, but source code is
available. We are looking for coders, testers, and enthusiastic users to help make
GtkDND a more exciting, usable product.
We are beginning to implement 3rd Edition Dungeons and
Dragons support!
If you are interested in helping us with this exciting development, please join the
mailing list and give us your input!
- Requirements
-
GtkDND currently requires the following additional pieces of software in order to
compile and run. Future plans include MySQL support.
Please note that the CVS version of GtkDND can use MySQL or (ideally) any SQL
database via unixODBC. See below for
information on grabbing a CVS snapshot.
- Status
-
GtkDND is known to compile and run on the following systems. Please make sure to
contact us if you are able to get it working on a
system not listed here.
- Linux i386 and AXP (RedHat 6.x, RedHat 7.x, Debian 2.2)
- Download
-
The current version of GtkDND is 0.1, and is not exactly feature complete. In
fact, it doesn't even do a whole lot yet, and seems to occasionally core dump on
some systems.
You may download the source code here: gtkdnd-0.1.tar.gz
- Anonymous CVS Access
-
If you'd like, you can download the latest code snapshot via CVS. The snapshot is
not guaranteed to work, however. To access our anonymous CVS archive, follow
these steps:
First you must log into the CVS server. Type the following command and hit enter
when asked for a password.
cvs -d:pserver:cvs@marco.aarg.net:/usr/local/cvsroot login
The password is 'cvs'.
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:cvs@marco.aarg.net:/usr/local/cvsroot co gtkdnd

- Thanks to...

Before I forget, I have to mention that this program would not even be remotely
possible without the previous efforts of several people.
The Magnificent Monster Database (MMDB) version 5.0 is distributed in a modified
format with this software by permission of Roger D. Mast <masts@ptdprolog.net>.
My profound thanks goes out to him for allowing me to use his database.
Thanks also go to A. Michelle Simmons
<asimmon@IUPUI.EDU> for the Mage and Priest spell databases, which I also
modified for use in my software.
