Welcome to Trollwood!

Scenic Trollwood! Nestled in the bosom of Russkland along the sparsely populated coast of the Sea of Goag, Trollwood is that archetypal gloomy forest filled with goblins, ghouls, and other nasty creatures. Every Dungeons & Dragons world has a place like this, and now you've found Raskia's.

Before the Anfalas War, Trollwood was relatively calm and peaceful. Various powerful wizards appointed by the Emperor of Russk kept the dangerous trolls at bay, and the goblinoid races seemed nearly extinct. These wizard-barons, as they came to be called, were not liked by the people. Not a group likely to be known for their social skills, the wizards put in charge of the areas taxed heavily, and with their newfound wealth performed all manner of bizarre magical experiments.

One day, the Commoner's Revolt finally reached the southern parts of the Russk Empire. Peasants everywhere rose up against their wizard-baron oppressors and threw them down. And with these protectors gone, Trollwood once again became a threat. Bugbears and giants crept out of the woods at night to steal away babies, and an upstart tribe of lizardfolk declared part of Trollwood to be its own sovereign kingdom.

Over a century has passed since the wizard-barons last kept Trollwood in check. Now, ancient ruins lay forgotten in its depths and wild beasts, giants, and goblins roam free throughout its mysterious depths.
